The mission of the British Association of Professional Child Photographers (BASPCP) is to promote, support and inspire the creative vision, business practices and integrity of professional child photographers (children aged 1 year +) throughout the UK. The BASPCP was founded in September 2014 by specialist child photographer Sarah Thomas. Along with her small team of administrators, it is the aim of the BASPCP to create a hub both for photographers practicing in the area of child photography in the UK and as a valuable resource for parents considering commissioning a child photographer. The BASPCP is dedicated to encouraging professional child photographers in the UK to share, learn, teach, aspire and grow their businesses via our programme of comprehensive resources, experienced guest writers and local/national meet ups. We aim to bring together a community of artists who are passionate about the specialist child photography industry in the UK. The BASPCP is neither a governing body or industry regulator, however we take time to ensure that each of our members is a current registered business in the UK and hold the applicable insurances to work in this field. They must also be able to demonstrate a consistent body of child photography work via their website and adhere to our member code of conduct. I am a qualified babywearing consultant and the founder of Swindon Sling Library. The library has a selection of over 60 slings available for hire, via slingmeets and individual consultations. Slings may be hired for £3 per week. When hiring slings you will be required to pay a deposit (cash or cheque). This will be refunded, when you return the sling, unless the sling is damaged beyond what could be considered reasonable wear and tear. Slingmeets are free to attend and allow parents to find out about and try out different slings, as well as meet other sling users. Parents are welcome to bring their own slings, whether they are having trouble using them and need advice, or just want to show them off! And of course, if parents want to take a sling away to try before they buy (or if they just want a sling to take on holiday or for a specific event) then any of the slings are available for hire.

Babies are born with the 'diving reflex'. When babies are submerged the reflex ensures they automatically hold their breath. We teach babies to breath hold intentionally, using the verbal cue "ready go". During the first term your baby will learn to swim short distances underwater. Your child can start classes from the age of 3 months and up to 14 months. If your child continues through the program, he/she will eventually learn to swim on top of the water. Contact Hank
