Meet Gemma Capture4Life

Hi

I'm Gemma, the main photographer for Capture4Life.  I am based in Southmoor - Oxfordshire (previously in Faringdon), where I have a fully equipped professional home studio.  I am an award winning, qualified photographer offering a professional service.  As one of the leading Oxfordshire Newborn Photographers, I have clients travel to me from right across Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Swindon, Gloucester, Cirencester, Buckingham, Reading, Hertfordshire and London.  In exceptional circumstances I may be able to travel to your home or preferred location (travel expenses may apply - Please ring or email to discuss this option further).  We can discuss the types of images you are after and together decide which will be the most convenient and appropriate environment for the shoot to take place.

The most influential people in my life are my family and friends; most importantly my husband, my gorgeous son Fynley and my beautiful daughter Maiya.  They are my true inspiration and my world.  Before having my children and setting up Capture4Life, I was a primary school teacher.  Working with children is something I love and I hope to build great rapport with your little people.

I truly appreciate that having your photograph taken can be a daunting experience for some people and my aim is to make it a fun filled, relaxed session, that you will come away from eager to see the results.  The best photographs are taken when you are relaxed and comfortable.  They are usually un-posed, unobtrusive, natural, candid shots capturing your real emotion and personality.  I am always looking for a fresh approach, capturing the magic.  At weddings, I like to capture the unseen moments and details.  Creating a journalistic magazine approach, demonstrating how different and unique your wedding is.

I have spent a lot of time investing in training to become a specialist Newborn Photographer.  I have trained with some of the best UK Newborn photographers and continue to strive to improve my work.  Babys safety is paramount at all times.  Many of the positions you see babies in, are carefully thought out and mimic how the baby would have been in the womb.  Some poses are called composites, which is a series of images taken where the babys weight is supported from different positions by adult support/holding and then the images are merged together with some photoshop magic to create the illusion the baby is supporting themselves.

I am fully insured and a member of the International Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP), International Professional Photographers' Network (IPPN) and Baby and Newborn Photography Association (BANPAS). I fully abide by there codes of practice.  I particiapate in regular training across all areas of photography and have attended several Newborn Posing Workshops with leading award winning Photographers and child photography training.  I am also qualified with the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers by gaining my Licentiate (LSWPP).  I have won Silver & Bronze Awards with IPPN and a Gold Award along with several Highly Commended grades with the SWPP in the monthly competitions.  I am currently working towards my next qualification.

Photographs should be displayed and cherished!
